Citizens Hall of Fame
The Citizens Hall of Fame was founded and inspired by members of the WinnipegREALTORS® Association in 1986. Initially the WinnipegREALTORS® Association wanted to host an event that would recognize outstanding individual contributions to the City of Winnipeg. It soon became evident that there was no lack of dinners, banquets, and other events honouring Winnipeg citizens for extraordinary achievements. Such recognition, however, was a fleeting testament to individual effort. The lack of permanent and public facility to honour outstanding Winnipeggers led to the creation of the concept of the Citizens Hall of Fame.

As the first of its kind, the Hall of Fame is a permanent momento to the pursuit and attainment of individual excellence and achievement on behalf of one's community. It is a tourist attraction, repository of local history, a source of education to the Winnipeg community, and lastly, a vehicle for displaying talents of local artists.
